3447230 - Reopen base purchase request items when target purchase order is canceled

Symptom

When you cancel a purchase order with items that are drawn from a purchase request, you cannot reopen the purchase request and make the canceled items available again for business transactions. For example, the canceled items cannot be drawn into a new purchase order.

Reproducing the issue

1. Create a purchase request with item A and item B.
2. Create a purchase order. Draw both items from the purchase request in step 1 into the purchase order.
3. Cancel the purchase order.

Solution

System behavior prior to SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2405 and SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2405, version for SAP HANA:

The purchase request cannot be reopened. The canceled items cannot be made available again for business transactions.

System behavior after upgrade to SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2405 and SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2405, version for SAP HANA:

A new checkbox Reopen Base Document Items When Purchase Order Is Canceled is now available for the Purchase Request document type on the Administration → System Initialization  → Document Settings  → Per Document tab.

If you select this checkbox, when you cancel a purchase order with items that are drawn from a purchase request, you can reopen the purchase request and make the canceled items available again for business transactions. For example, the canceled items can be drawn into a new purchase order.

In addition, a dependent Without User Confirmation checkbox is available. This option is only available when you select the checkbox Reopen Base Document Items When Purchase Order Is Canceled. 

If you select this Without User Confirmation checkbox, when you cancel a purchase order that is created from a purchase request, the purchase request is always reopened and the canceled items are always available again. No confirmation message is displayed.

If you deselect this checkbox, when you cancel a purchase order that is created from a purchase request, you will receive a confirmation message: Do you want to reopen the items in the base purchase request? You need to decide if you want to reopen the purchase request and make the canceled items available again.
