2058251 - In document lines, you can now change the value in the Qty(Inventory UoM) field independently

Symptom

In document lines, sometimes you need to change the values in the Qty (Inventory UoM) field, for example, for rounding purposes. However, when you change the value in the Qty(Inventory UoM) field, the value in the Quantity field automatically changes as well.

This happens because the values in the document lines always have to make the following formula true:

Items per Unit * Quantity = Qty(Inventory UoM)

Solution

A new column Change Qty(Inv. UoM) Independently was added to the table in the document.

In the line where the checkbox is selected, the values do not form the formula. So you can change the value in the Qty(Inventory UoM) field independently without affecting the values in the Quantity field.

To use this checkbox, do the followings:

Prerequisites:

• You have included the system pre-defined UoM Manual in UoM Group Paper.
• UoM Group Paper is used for Item R00001.

Procedures:

1. Open the document, for example the Goods Receipt PO.
2. Display the Change Qty (Inv. UoM) Independently field in the document table.
   1. In the toolbar, choose the Form Settings... button.
   2. In the Form Settings - Goods Receipt PO window, choose the Table Format tab.
   3. In the table, find the Change Qty (Inv. UoM) Independently field, and select the checkbox in the Visible column for it.
   4. Choose the OK button.
3. In the document line, choose Item R00001.
4. In the UoM Code field, choose Manual. Then the Change Qty (Inv. UoM) Independently checkbox becomes available.
5. Select the Change Qty (Inv. UoM) Independently checkbox.
