3302015 - Total Released Quantity Cannot Be Greater Than the Open Quantity in the Base Sales Order

Symptom

Total released quantity cannot be greater than the open quantity in the base sales order.

Environment

 SAP Business One

Reproducing the Issue

Scenario:

1. Add a sales order with Quantity 10.
2. Right mouse click in the Sales Order and select Generate Pick List.
3. Pick Pack and Production Manager form opens.
4. In Pick Pack and Production Manager → Open drawer → sales order row → To Release column enter value 11, then try to select the relevant sales order.

Actual Behavior:

The following error message occurs: Total released quantity for Sales Order XXX, Row Y, is greater than the open quantity

Resolution

This is correct system definition as the error message shows the released quantity cannot be greater than the open quantity from the sales order.

There is no setting in the SAP Business One application, that could change this behavior. To release greater quantity as the open quantity in the sales order, you have to update the quantity in the Sales Order to the expected greater quantity first, then you will be able to release greater quantity.
